TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE
These Terms and Conditions of Use apply to you when you view, access or otherwise use the web site located at www.contracostacert.org (the "Site"). The Site is owned and managed by the Contra Costa County Cities Citizen Corps/CERT Committee (C8). C8 grants you a nonexclusive, nontransferable, limited right to access, use and display the Site and the materials provided hereon, provided that you comply fully with these Terms and Conditions of Use.
DISCLAIMER OF ENDORSEMENT
The documents posted on the Site or other C8 forums may contain hypertext links or pointers to information created and maintained by other public and private organizations. These links and pointers are provided for visitors' convenience. Neither C8, nor its members controls or guarantees the accuracy, relevance, timeliness, or completeness of any linked information.
Further, the inclusion of links or pointers to websites other than the Site is not intended to assign importance to those sites and the information contained therein, nor is it intended to endorse, recommend, or favor any views expressed or commercial products or services offered on these outside sites, or the organizations sponsoring the sites, by trade name, trademark, manufacture, or otherwise.

The views and opinions expressed in C8 forums are those of the individual contributors and do not necessarily state or reflect those of the C8.
PASSWORD AND ACCESS RESPONSIBILITIES
If you sign-up to become a C8 Member, you will be provided with a
username and password that entitles you to access
various portions of the Site and its services. This is a shared username and password and each member is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of this information.
PRIVACY POLICY
We may amend this
Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be disclosed upon this page. Your continued access to the Site or
continued membership shows
your acceptance of our Privacy Policy in effect at that time.
The provisions of our Privacy Policy are as follows:
When each prospective C8 member requests membership, we require him or her to provide a true name and e-mail address.
When one
makes a
purchase through the Site, we or our vendors may ask him or her
to provide a
name, shipping address, e-mail address, credit card
number and
expiration date.
When users request pages from our
server, our Web server automatically collects some
information about the users, including their IP
addresses. We may also collect information regarding your
use of the Site through the use of cookies.
If you
choose to post messages on any of our forums, we may maintain
on the message page such information about you as you
choose to disclose. While every effort is made to limit access to these forums to C8 members, any information so posted should be considered public.
If you send us personal
correspondence, such as e-mails or letters, we may
collect such information into a file specific to you.
We also maintain a record or notes of communications
with you regarding your membership.
We do not distribute, rent or sell any personally
identifiable information to third parties without your
express consent, other than as necessary to process
your credit card payment.
Our vendors will use your information solely to process your credit
card payment, to facilitate your access to and use of the Site, and to communicate with you. We also use
this information to compile broad demographic and
website usage information about our users in general,
but this does not contain anything that could be used
to identify you personally.
We periodically use your
e-mail address to send e-mail newsletters and
important member announcements. You will not receive any e-mail from
us unless you have requested it or unless it is
notice to you specifically about your membership
account. You can
indicate at any time that you do not wish to receive
e-mail information from us.
We do not provide your
e-mail to third parties without your express consent,
unless required by subpoena, court order, or to comply
with the request of law enforcement officials.
We take reasonable precautions to maintain the
security of any information obtained from and about
you.
We recognize the importance of your privacy. If you
have any questions about our Privacy Policy or your

OTHER VENDORS
Some purchases and other services obtained or made through the Site may be subject to such other agreements or policies as may be required by other vendors (Yahoo!Groups, Paypal or Cafe Press, for example). Any questions, comments, or disputes with the merchandise or services provided by or through these vendors must be submitted to or remedied directly through them.
PROHIBITED ACTIONS
You agree not to interrupt, or attempt to interrupt, the operation of the Site in any way. Unauthorized use or modification of any information stored on the Site may result in criminal and/or civil prosecution under Federal, State and local law.
You may not use the Site for anything other than a lawful and legitimate purpose.

The C8 reserves the right to revise these Terms and Conditions of Use at any time by updating this page. Your continued use of the Site constitutes your agreement to comply with such revisions, so you should visit this page from time to time.

Communications made through the Site's e-mail and messaging system shall in no way be deemed to constitute legal notice to C8, or any of its officers, employees, agents or representatives, such as where notice to these parties is required by contract, or any federal, state or local laws, rules or regulations.
